Cannes Young Lions Media Academy - Day Two

Day Two! And I was tired. We kicked the day off on the academy terrace with a chat from Lynn Lewis and Katie Miller, who represent UM (woo, friends) and Coca-Cola respectively. We chatted about how great collaborations work, and how to navigate the agency-client relationships. Matt Jarvis then popped in to talk about what makes a great leader. Turns out it involves hugging 700 people in one day.

Then, over to the Innovation stage where Dr Beau Lotto blew our little lion-cub minds. Data itself is meaningless, everything you know and love is a mere construct, and all the things you experience are determined by your own personal biases.

Over to the IPG Mediabrands terrace, where our US CEO, Amy Armstrong lead an incredible panel of illustrious cultural figures on the topic of how culture shapes communication today. Halle Berry, Hannah Bronfman, Dotmaster and Fergus O'Hare joined us on the beautiful terrace for a cup of frosé (frozen rosé obvs) and some insightful thoughts into what our brands can do to tap into culture for their consumers.

And finally, some awards! Last night saw the winners of the Cyber, Innovation, Creative Data, Moblie and Direct lions pick up their gongs. Google Tilt Brush took home the Innovation Grand Prix. Painting in 3D. Check it out.

Until next time, à bientôt!
